CDI

Beitrag von Langus »

Hello,

I have one question connected to CDI. I found sth on this forum, but topic is locked and I do not understand German well. My problem is, that I have leonaredo 125cc 1999, tunned with polini 180cc kit, leovince 4road, malossi multivar, Carburator -KEIHIN CVK 30mm and polini gears. With all this modifications is top speed the same - 115km/h and I was wondering if there is any possibility that CDI is blocked???

Please help!

Regards from Slovenia,

David

Welcome Langus.
Our forensearch say`s:
The CDI has a speedlimiter. This sets off by +/- 10.000 rpm.
Think, there is the prob but still wait for more input from here... :)

that seems to be right.

polini gears - what transmission ratio is given? (in relation with the original gears)

with original gears, more than 115km/h are not possible...

I have polini primary drive, ratio 18/43. Could you anyone help me, what to do with CDI? Do I need to cut the cable or buy anyone which has no rev limiter? Speed is the same as stock (without changing kit, exhaust and carburator). I do not understand how is possible that max speed is the same - doesnt matter if you go down from hill or up to hill?

The CDI isn't blocked. There is only a limitation for engine speed (software-based), and that is necessary to protect the engine against overspeed, that kills it...

if the speed is the same hill up and down, you need a longer end transmission (gears).
Or another CDI without limiter, but I'm sure, that will kill the engine immediately

I have the longest transmission as possible, but there is no difference, I tried at least 10 combinations with rolles and there is still no difference. I saw some movies of leonardo 125cc and 150cc on youtube and top speed is approx. 130-140km/h?
